Happy to announce the release of a new single!
“Soul Remote” was initially written as a monthly submission for a songwriters group that I was involved with Stateside for a time. And then leading up to the shooting of the short film (The Wreck of Harold Murphy) and my acting debut, it dawned on me it’d be a perfect fit for the film. Somehow I sold it on director Erin Brandenburg and screenwriter Henry Adam Svec and it became an integral part of the film. But more about the film in other post.
To record the audio, I leaned on the ultra talented crew I’ve been working with forever:
Dean Drouillard - nylon string & slide guitars
Adrian Lawryshyn - upright bass
Tara Watts - vocals
Derek Impens - drums, percussion
Andy Magoffin - mellophone, Eb alto
Recorded in Windsor, Toronto and Cambridge
Produced by Derek Impens (South Bridge Studios)
Mastered by Andy Magoffin (House of Miracles)
For the video, I teamed up with Garth Jackson (Troublelight Films) and we shot it in a downtown Windsor alleyway as an homage to the great Warhol screen test films.
Album Photo/Artwork is also by Garth Jackson.
